Meet mamba, he is a 3-year-old shepherd/pittie mix. He is neutered, up to date, and heartworm negative. He came to us desperate and broken, he was emaciated, covered in ticks and fleas, and on the verge of death. He was physically and mentally shut down. After 6 months of continuous vet visits, love, and support, he slowly came out of his shell. He is such a sweet boy, he loves attention and enjoys giving kisses. Mamba is not house broken, or crate trained, so he will need some training. Mamba does not do well with other dogs or cats. He will require a home where he can be the only pet. He has previously done well with children; gently taking treats and making himself appear small to receive pets. He deserves his own family with an owner who truly understands him. Please reach out if you believe you can make his dreams come true!
Meet Boone, he is a 2-year-old European Great Dane. He is neutered, up to date, and heartworm negative. Boone came to us with his mate, Montana. They were owner surrendered due to their owner going through hardships and no long being able to care for them. Boone is 160lb full of playful love. He was previously an inside/outside pup, so he is about 85% house broken; however, he is not crate trained. With time I feel confident he could adapt to being crated. He definitely could use some obedience training, as he lacks some manners. A dedicated owner could turn him into an outstanding family member. He is good with large dogs but does not do well with small dogs or cats due to prey drive. He is okay with children but due to his size and lack of awareness it's recommended that the children be older. This big ol' boy would thrive with a family of his own.
Meet Tabby, she is a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees. She is spayed, up to date, and unfortunately heartworm positive. Please don't think less of her because she has heartworms! She has been being treated and her medication will be sent with her at time of adoption. Tabby is exactly what her breed is known for, a faithful guardian. Tabby does excellent with livestock, other pets, and children of all ages. While she was shadowing our personal Great Pyrenees, coyotes were heard close by our horse pasture, Tabby immediately sprang into action, alerting and chasing them off of the property line. Stereotypical for Tabby's breed, they are known to wander. It just so happens that tabby thinks she is an immaculate wilderness explorer. When she gets bored, she will wander to find something else to do. We have had to pick her up from down the road after she went to play in nearby creek. Tabby does not like to be confined to a certain area; she prefers to be free. She has had no problems jumping out of kennels, that being said it is very important that Tabby finds a farm with lots of acreage to protect and explore. Her ideal family would be someone with a farm and experience with the breed. With the right owner and some perimeter training this girl would be an excellent farm hand! I also think that she would do perfectly fine as an indoor pet being walked on a leash.
Meet Artemis, she is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix. She is spayed, up to date, and heartworm negative. Artemis came to us from GCAC as a broken puppy on the euthanasia list. She had a gunshot wound to the face and neck. Due to her previous trauma, she is a very shy girl when she meets new people. It takes her awhile to trust new people. Once she gets comfortable, she is a total love bug. Artemis does very well in a home environment, she is fully crate trained, and about 90% house broken, she will have occasional accidents if she does not go out routinely. She does great with other dogs, especially when they can keep up with her energy and playful spirit. Artemis does not do well with cats, due to her prey drive cats are not a suitable roommate for her. She does absolutely amazing with children big and small, she is SO gentle with kiddos. Artemis does well with collars but struggles with a leash or anything being attached to her neck. With some gentle training and redirection, I feel like she could overcome most of it. With her being younger and eager to learn I feel confident that she would do excellent morphing into a home with structure.
Meet Cub, he is a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix. He is pending his neuter appointment, up to date, and heartworm negative. Cub was an emaciated stray from a popular dumping ground in Columbia, SC. Cub has a comforting spirit and is 100% for the people. He is so sweet, he loves to snuggle and give kisses. He knows basic commands like sit, down, and stay. He is not house broken, or crate trained but due to his personality and quick learning abilities I feel like he would quickly adapt. He does great with female dogs and non-dominant male dogs. He does good with cats and kids, occasionally he can be overbearing but for the most part he's great. Cub LOVES a good chew toy! He'll chew anything really, if it looks chewable it's going to be his next treat. He is very smart; he will personally bring you his bowl if he is ready for more food. His leash manners are decent, he would benefit with a martingale, as he does have a slight tendency to pull. Aside from chewing, he does view certain fences as easy obstacles. He does great with taller chain-link and wooded privacy fence however, he easily escapes less study, shorter fences. Cub would also be perfectly fine going out on a leash instead of out in a yard. Cub loves to go on trips to Starbucks to get pup cups. He enjoys an active lifestyle where daily walks or hiking would be present. Cub would be great with an active family who will spoil him rotten.
Meet Melo, he is a 5-year-old Carin Terrier mix. He is neutered, up to date, and heartworm negative. He is a very personable little guy. He is roughly 8-10 pounds. He’s small but has a lot to yap about. He wasn’t dealt the best cards earlier on in life. He has lots of corks and kinks that will probably never be worked out, but he deserves the chance. He is good with other dogs, cats, but not kids. He was neglected, and from what we know, constantly antagonized by children till he would bite. He has some very bad trauma associated with his crate that we have been able to slowly help dissolve. When we first got him, he would almost always get snippy when he’d be placed in the crate. He’d growl, bark, and attack the side of the crate. Now, with gentle reassurance he is willing to go in a crate. He doesn’t like people being loud or obnoxious with him. If he feels threatened, he goes into fight or flight. He does amazing with leash manners and commands. He can sit, stay, down, and spin. He was neutered late in life, so he does hike his leg up to mark his territory but aside from that he does great in the house. He is one heck of a snuggle buddy! He prefers to be directly beside people or in their lap. Melo is very attached to people, so he follows right behind anywhere you go. He loves a good car ride and of course a pup cup! This precious boy needs a soft spot to land. His ideal home would be with a retired couple or a family with no children. I am more than willing to go more into detail about his behaviors with a serious adopter. Be Melo's peace and give him a chance.
